Donation for flood disaster

The images of the devastating storms in North Rhine-Westphalia and Rhineland-Palatinate on July 14, 2021 deeply shook us. When the full extent of the catastrophe became clear in the following days, it was therefore quickly clear to us that we wanted to support the residents of the region and the countless relief workers with what we do best: First aid products. After all, the risk of injury during the cleanup work is high in view of the huge mountains of rubble and destroyed houses. On 27.07.2021, large quantities of dressing materials in the form of compresses, bandages, plasters and other material for wound care left our warehouse in Taunusstein by SÖHNGEN® truck for Ahrweiler. There, the relief supplies were handed over to the German Red Cross Sinzig e.V. local association.

“We wanted to deliver the goods to exactly where they are currently needed most urgently – and to do so quickly and centrally.” Says Project Manager Advertising and Communications Matthias Schirmer.

The situation on the ground is made even more difficult by the increased risk of Corona infection. That is why we have supplemented our aid delivery with important items such as FFP2 masks, Corona rapid tests and hand disinfection for the relief workers and the people in the emergency shelters.

“Many thanks to the company W.Söhngen GmbH for the generous donation. We will put the aids to a targeted use!”, say Marco Hengsberg and Judith Grobelny from the German Red Cross local association Sinzig e.V..

Our great thanks go to the tireless helpers on site, especially the German Red Cross local association Sinzig e.V.!
